Our recommendation is to contact your printer for advice on how to create your artwork. Below you will find some general advice:
Programs Artwork should preferably be created in Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator or QuarkXPress. In general, high resolution PDF files can be used as well. We offer artwork templates in InDesign for all of our products.
Document formats Important to remember is to create your artwork with exact proportions in relation to the actual print. Since the printed graphics will be large, it is suitable to work with 10%.
For graphics that will cover several panels (e.g. for Expand 2000), create the artwork as one page and your printer will divide it up for best fit.
Save your document as EPS, TIFF or high resolution pdf.
Images
Images should be saved as EPS or TIFF. Choose between RGB and CMYK (the graphic is always printed in CMYK). Remember not to mix different colour ranges. EPS files can also be saved with JPEG compression in maximum image quality. The resolution should be at least 100 ppi in 100% size. For instance, if the image is 50% of the final format, the resolution will be 200 ppi.
Colours
To make the colour reproduction as correct as possible, please state the colour according to the Pantone scale or send a colour sample.
Logotypes For best result, logotypes should be vectorised EPS files.
Typefaces
Include all typefaces, even those mounted in illustrations and EPS files. Convert your text to curves/outlines if possible.
Do not forget to:
Include images, graphics, logotype and typeface (if possible, convert your typeface to curves/outlines).
Please note:
The reflection distance of a large image is often 2 metres or more.
In general, it is better to place your logotype on the top of your graphic artwork (not in the lower right hand corner as you normally do for advertisements).
When creating an artwork for Expand 2000, please note:
The graphic is printed on several separate panels so please pay attention not to place text or logo where there is a join.
The Expand 2000 is also available in a curved version so please take note not to place important information such as text, pay-off and logotype too far out towards the edges, in case it will end up placed in or after the bend of the graphic.
